I plan to grow herbs (basil) in a ceramic container. A note on the container with the words "This product contains no lead. It is not for use as food. Compress inside. Do you think that it is safe to grow herbs?

No, I would not grow into something that suggests not put food in it, but do not want food in the store ... on the table? I say try a biodegradable container, in any health food stores and Jo-Ann fabric, etc. can be purchased, see
